Women in the Making – Politics and Public Service Summit for Girls (3/31 @ MCNY)

Are we able to put this year’s election in the hands of our young girls? We will be, when they attend the Women in the Making Politics and Public Service Summit for Girls (11-19)! Held at Metropolitan College of New York (75 Varick Street in Manhattan), the day’s theme is “We the People!”

 

Saturday March 31, 10:30 AM – 02:30 PM.

The Women In the Making Shero Panel features fierce and dynamic New York City Councilwomen Letitia James and Julissa Ferreras, Political Strategist and Co-Founder of Higher Heights for America Glynda Carr and Political Entrepreneur Reshma Saujani, the first Indian-American woman to run for Congress.

They will empower our girls with:
* Understanding the political process and how YOU fit in
* What do politicians as public servants do?
* Understanding how politicians’ decisions affect even the youngest of citizens
* Contacting them on issues YOU’RE passionate about
* Ideas and ways YOU can be of service and effect change in YOUR OWN community
* How YOU can begin your career in politics and public service now

Breakfast, lunch, goody swag bags, fun mock debates, and raffle items exploring New York City history and culture.
